Many of our students tell us that learning to dance with us has been not only fun, but truly life-changing—bringing confidence, joy, and unforgettable moments.

My daughter and her fiancé had lessons with Olga, who created the perfect first wedding dance for them. She and I had lessons with Sergi in preparation for our mother-daughter dance. Sergei was an excellent instructor! We chose a waltz and he choreographed a beautiful dance for us! He was patient, creative and so encouraging! I would highly recommend them!

My wife and I started taking lessons at Ballroom Dance of NJ as complete beginners to prepare for our son's wedding. Olga and Sergei are very warmly inviting and understanding instructors and they quickly got us started. They are first-rate professional dancers, and the lessons are inspiring while being great fun. The setting is beautiful, and the atmosphere is welcoming. It all makes for a wonderful experience.

"I started dancing as a child; it was ballet at first. Later I wanted  some social interaction too and ballroom dancing seemed ideal. The real change came when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I really believe that dancing was the best rehabilitation which saved me from life in a wheelchair."

After trying to practice our first dance and getting shouldered in the eye by my fiancé, we thought it was time to bring in the professionals - and we are SO happy we did.

We took our first class last weekend with Sergei and had a blast. Sergei is so kind and patient, and he already has us feeling much more confident. We cannot wait for our next class.

Klaudia Petriti

"I ballroom dance because it allows me to express myself to music through the different dances and characterizations of each dance. It's a great form of fun exercise and great discipline. There is always so much to learn. Even at the highest level of dancing you can find different ways to develop and improve yourself. Ballroom dancing also gives me the opportunity to dance with my partner where I have developed my communication not only on a physical level but verbally as well. It's a one of a kind art!"

Peggy Klafter

”Oh, I just love the energy and passion!"

"I always wanted to take dancing lessons. Finally, at an older age I decided I’d better do it! I am taking lessons for 'myself.' For my mental, physical, and emotional well being. I LOVE IT!!! Bucket list . . . done!!!"

Krystal Ortiz-Meola

My fiancé and I came to Ballroom Dance of NJ with no dance experience and a big goal: to learn a choreographed dance for our wedding. From the very first lesson, we knew we were in the right place. The owners Sergei and Olga are incredibly welcoming, patient, and genuinely passionate about making dance fun and accessible for everyone.

They took the time to understand our vision, worked with our skill level, and made each session something we looked forward to. What could have been a stressful part of wedding planning turned into one of the most enjoyable! They broke down each step clearly and encouraged us through every misstep with humor and kindness.

Thanks to them, we now have confidence going into our special day. We’re so grateful for their guidance and heart, and we’d recommend this studio to anyone looking to learn, whether it’s for a special occasion or just for fun!

"Ballroom Dance of NJ has given me the most pleasure from the corners of my mind to the tips of my toes. It challenges my brain, benefits my body as I attempt to learn and express myself, the variety of music makes my heart sing, and having a partner is a way to meet so many interesting people who share the same interest. For me, it is a 'Fun Challenge.' I Love to Dance, I love to learn and I love to have fun!"

Olesya Kazakova

We are more than happy to be clients of this wonderful dance studio. Every single class is filled with professionalism, positive energy, and so much fun. Olga and SergeOlesya Kazakovay are incredibly attentive, truly care about the children, and know how to connect with them in such a warm and natural way. We are very grateful to be part of this studio and highly recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality dance classes.

"My husband and I started dancing lessons when our kids were in elementary school. It was the only way we could be together without having our minds totally focused on the children. . . .

That precious one hour a week was our reconnecting time, a 'date' that we badly needed in a relationship stressed by work, finances, and parenthood.

We then realized that dancing demanded a high level of collaboration with our partners than even a normal marriage requires. By pursuing it together my husband and I discovered challenges within ourselves and conquered them as best we can as a team. So, by the time the kids went on to Middle School, High School, and beyond, we were able to really enjoy each other and not suffer any sense of loss with an empty nest.

Now, as we are both retired and getting into the 'really mature' years, we notice how dancing helps us improve our mobility, balance, cardiovascular function, and joint health!!!

Furthermore, dancing brought us a new circle of friends. Dancing friends are supportive, active, and always vying for a good time. There really is no better way to enjoy golden years!"

“I’ve been doing ballroom dancing for a year now. Dancing is good for the soul; it just makes you feel happy! Dancing is a great aerobic activity which helps you improve your coordination, balance, and muscle strength! For older adults, dancing is great for posture and helps strengthen your muscles and spine to keep you erect! It is great exercise for our brains as well. Remembering steps and dance routines is a great challenge for memory! You meet a lot of wonderful like-minded friends at Dance who love to do it as much as you!”

Janie Zitomer

I've been in many dance studios, but I've never seen one more welcoming. And the teachers maintain the highest standards in the field.

It's a super friendly studio with highly experienced teachers.

I urge every aspiring ballroom dancer to check it out. Whether you are just dipping your toes into dance, or at a competitive level, or in need of wedding choreography. You won't be disappointed. And you will be sure to make new friends.

Tanya Desharnais

"Ballroom dancing is a wonderful part of my life. It makes me happy and has increased my confidence in social situations. It challenges me physically and mentally. It’s a great workout and it feeds my creativity. I have also made so many new friends through ballroom dancing. Great people who have the same aspirations as me in dance and who are fun to be with. There is nothing better than an evening on the dance floor!"

Sergei & Olga Ilyashenko

"Why we like Ballroom Dancing . . .

Ballroom dance brings exercise and joyful activity . . . dancing together. There is that something special about dancing that leaves you feeling happy and fulfilled after a lesson or workshop.

On top of that, you constantly work on your social skills as you meet a lot of different people with diverse backgrounds and upbringings.

I would recommend ballroom dance to anyone who recovers from physical injury or mental distress/anxiety."

Joe Wright

"When I was still working, my wife gave me a birthday gift certificate for dancing lessons. I found dancing to be great exercise, involving both mind and body, and a welcome diversion from work."

Nicholas Romeo

”I just love to dance; it feels energetic!"

Had a wonderful experience at Ballroom Dance of NJ. Sergei was super nice and helpful! We ended up showing up 10 minutes late because we arrived at their old location and instead of ending the session at the normal time, Sergei gave us an extra 10 minutes to make up for missed time! Wonderful studio and my girlfriend and I will definitely be back!

Angela Morrison

"Ballroom dancing for me is a physically energizing and cognitively engaging passion that is the antidote to aging!"

Jaspreet Kalra

"Dancing these last 5 years has given me a sense of achievement, inspiration, and mental stimulation. Each 6 months is a target to prepare to dance on an event which constantly challenges me to improvise and excel, forcing me to engage in teamwork and discipline, stretch my muscles to increase the flexibility and create awareness of each move. It’s a great and stress free way to exercise while socializing with people."

Joan Wright

"Start with one step and learn what fun can be! That’s how I began. I knew nothing about ballroom dancing but once I started I didn’t want to stop. It was the challenge of learning a new way to move my body and ended up improving myself physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and having a ball while doing it. What a fun way to maintain your health (especially as you get older)."

Amanda Muench

”I enjoy the physical movement and body awareness, plus learning new skills for my enjoyment and health!"

Bina Megrish

”I enjoy performing."

Eileen Foley

"Ballroom dancing adds a touch of fun, personal challenge, and intrigue to my life.

Fun:

The music, the environment, the moves, the people all combine to create a fun atmosphere when I am ballroom dancing, whether I am at practice or an event like a showcase.

Personal Challenge:

Learning certain dances like the tango or waltz is intimidating and personally challenging to me. I do not naturally feel comfortable getting into the right position and character to do these dances justice, but being out of my comfort zone has enabled me to grow and build my confidence and be more carefree.

Intrigue:

While I love my work, it’s not the most interesting thing and adding ballroom dancing into my repertoire adds a little spice to my life. There is something to be said about people who participate in ballroom dancing and I enjoy being around them. It’s like carving out a piece of your life that is reserved for fun – there is no stress, everyone is there to have a good time, you are mutually respected, treated with dignity and honor and doing something that is healthy for your mind and body."
